Building upon the successes of the EAS Congresses 2003 and 2006, the EAS Congress 2009 serves as an intellectual marketplace for both government and non-government stakeholders on coastal and ocean issues, innovative approaches, policies and technologies, and good practices and lessons learned
in coastal and ocean management.

The EAS Congress 2009 highlights the implementation and progress toward the SDS-SEA and other relevant international and regional targets and the initiatives and actions undertaken on the ground. The Congress will feature knowledge-sharing / dynamic discussions on key issues that are pertinent to the region, as well as best practices in various aspects of coastal and ocean management.
